React Native vs Flutter in 2025

Choosing between React Native and Flutter still comes up on almost every mobile project kickoff call, and the honest answer is that both are mature enough that the decision should be driven by team context rather than by which one is trending.

React Native has the edge when a team already has strong React and JavaScript/TypeScript skills, or when the product needs to share significant business logic with an existing web app. Its ecosystem of native modules is enormous, though that also means occasionally dealing with third-party packages of inconsistent quality.

Flutter tends to win on rendering consistency — because it draws its own widgets rather than bridging to native components, a Flutter app looks identical pixel-for-pixel across iOS and Android. Dart is an easy language to pick up, but it is a smaller hiring pool than JavaScript.

For teams starting from zero with no strong existing preference, we usually recommend Flutter for highly custom, animation-heavy interfaces, and React Native when speed of hiring and code-sharing with a web team matter more.
